WMV (Windows Media Video) is a popular media video format that was developed by Microsoft. WMV files are playable using Windows Media Player. There are numerous portable media players supporting WMV. Some WMV files come with the protection by the DRM(digital right management) License itself. You must play the protected WMV files by Windows Media Player online and can not play them using the third party player if the WMV files are protected by DRM. If you try to play it for the first time on your PC, then Windows Media Player will try and look for the license on the PC.

Top 5 reason why people like Windows 7

June 02, 2011 at 4:29 AM in Apple by Blog about jackappley

Windows 7 gets you around your PC faster than ever before. The taskbar has large buttons and full-sized previews and you can pin programs to it for one-click access. Jump Lists provide shortcuts to files, folders, and websites. And Snap, Peek, and Shake give you easy (and fun) new ways to juggle all those open windows.

1. A quick & better desktop:
Windows 7 gets you around your PC faster than ever before. The taskbar has large buttons and full-sized previews and you can pin programs to it for one-click access. Jump Lists provide shortcuts to files, folders, and websites. And Snap, Peek, and Shake give you easy (and fun) new ways to juggle all those open windows.

2. Start button search:
The Start button search facility introduced with Windows Vista has been given a spruce up that makes it a genuine timesaver. Instead of merely hunting for exact filename and application matches, the search is more intelligent.
Search for "disk" for example, and not only do applications such as Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter appear as they would in Vista, but also Control Panel tasks such as "Create and format hard disk partitions" and "Create a password reset disk".
It isn't a straight keyword search, either - "Use tools to improve performance" comes up when you search for "processor", for instance. It's a clever way of making hard-to-find Control Panel features more accessible.

3. Nag-free System Tray:
Your antivirus software is out of date! Wireless networks detected! The woman at number 43 has just turned on her oven! Vista's System Tray spewed out so many pop-up warnings that you couldn't see the wood for the trees. Windows 7's revamped System Tray, on the other hand, has been blissfully gagged.
Windows warning messages are now concealed in the "Windows Solutions Center" - a small lighthouse icon that sits silently in the System Tray and delivers warning messages only when you click on it. In fact, it could even be argued that Microsoft has gone a little too far.
Hidden warnings that the security software is switched off, for example, won't bother most PC Authority readers, but the average consumer would probably appreciate the heads-up.

4. Media streamer playback:
Windows Media Player now includes the option to play back music on other networked devices in the home, not only the PC you're sat in front of. So, for example, you could be sitting in the lounge with a laptop and select a music track to play back through a media-streaming device with its own dedicated speakers, instead of your tinny laptop affairs.

5. Bluetooth wizard:
A quick peek in the revamped System Tray reveals a new Bluetooth icon. Windows 7 adds support for Bluetooth 2.1, making it easier to discover and pair devices using a simple wizard. Our test Nokia E71 smartphone was paired within seconds, although the drivers failed to install properly on the phone, meaning we could send photos to the phone, but not vice versa. Hopefully, such niggles will be ironed out before launch.

Cool iPad Game Controller-Apple iPad Accessories Shopper

July 21, 2011 at 6:27 AM in Apple by Blog about vickytong

This Game Controller for iPad is a popular Apple iPad Accessories, and it is a cool one, Have a Fling with your iPad.

After two years of playing games on the iPhone and iPad - among other touchscreen devices - I no longer fuss over virtual controls. But I know I'm in the minority to a degree, as many newcomers to iOS gaming (and veterans even) struggle with the lack of tactile feedback when controlling games via virtual sticks and buttons. And so I was mighty eager to try out Ten One Design's Fling iPad game controller, a plastic nub that adheres to the tablet screen and provides an analog-esque stick.

I wasn't necessarily skeptical of the Fling stick, but I am certainly surprised by just how well it works. The elegant little piece of plastic adheres to the iPad screen via a pair of suction cups. All you need to do is position the physical stick over the virtual controls and firmly press down. The conductive material beneath the stick relays your thumb movements with impressive accuracy. The clear plastic housing that holds the stick lets you see through to the screen, minimizing the amount of real estate blockage.

The plastic that circles the stick is not there just to look cool - although it does. The curlicue offers both a great field of motion and smooth movement. Plus, when you release the stick, it quickly, well, flings back into the central position. This was especially useful in games like Dead Space and N.O.V.A., where you sometimes need to release the stick to perform an on-screen input. With a good, anchored position for the Fling stick, there's no more feeling around for the virtual controller, which I consider a legit gripe.

In all, it's a smart design. And as an added benefit, you need no extra software. You just push it into place on the screen and you're ready to go. The Fling is ultra-light, too, so throwing one in your backpack (it comes with a nice protective bag) is convenient. But it's far too large to use on an iPhone, so don't bother.

Fling is a tactile game controller for iPad. It gives you ultimate control over any game that has an on-screen joystick.Stop worrying about the controls and take your skills to the next level.  Fling's patent pending design provides auto-centering and force feedback.  Once you start gaming with Fling, you'll never go back.

Patent pending tactile interface for your iPad

Auto-centering for max control over your game

Unique transparent design provides an unrestricted view of all the incoming action

Includes a microfiber bag for on-the-go storage

Manufactured from an incredibly tough, yet flexible engineering-grade resin, Fling will stand-up to energetic gamers of all ages

5 Best iPhone 4S Games 2012

December 30, 2011 at 2:45 AM in Apple by Technology News & Tips

The iPhone 4S is like its earlier version as far as external features are concerned. However, with the new processor and A5 chip and iOS 5, iPhone 4S is the best gadget in the market for game lovers. Now playing a game in your iPhone 4s set will be faster with cleaner, crisper graphics. Frame rates, game loading, and launch times are better as compared to iPhone 4 version. We choose 5 best iPhone 4S games for you.

1. Dead Space

Dead Space should be a household name to any hardcore gamer. The series offers such a compelling horror feel and story that the iOS game is a strong companion to the console versions of the game. Dead Space on the iOS was made to promote and hype up the launch for Dead Space 2 but managed to stand out on its own as a great horror title, with crisp graphics and dropping onscreen buttons for a full view of the game.

2. Machinarium

Machinarium is a rare game that stands out in a sea of clones and sequels. First making its release on the PC back in 2009, Machinarium has finally made it's way to the iOS. It plays very much like an old school point-and-click adventure. Needless to say, it fits right at home on the iOS.

3. Rage HD

While Rage has just launched to consoles, Rage HD has been out for awhile to offer players a small teaser of the full title. Even though the game has already been released, Rage HD is still a great game to pick up and play for the iPhone 4S.

4. Asphalt 6: Adrenaline

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline is a racing game. While I'm unable to expand too much on what the game is about, I'll say simply that it's a great game for what it offers.

5. Spider-Man: Total Mayhem

Developed by Gameloft, Spider-Man Total Mayhem lets you experience a day in the life of Peter Parker. Take on some of the daily tasks and errands that pop up in the city as you swing from building to building. While this game may not have much of a storyline (or character development, for that matter), the web action and boss fights make up for it.
