Best metal tent pegs 2012

12-Piece Galvanized Steel Tent Pegs - Garden Stakes

1. These low cost stakes serve many purposes including holding down tarps that you might put in front of your tent. For about $0.30 a piece they are worth it.

2. I use these to hold down a hunting blind in light wind mostly in soft soil. They work well but will bend if placed in rocky ground, but so did the ones that came with the blind. Overall satisfied for what I needed them for.

3. Must be this didn't go anywhere as I did this yesterday. The stakes were just what I wanted. A little longer than I needed but I knew that when I ordered them. My husband cut them off and they worked very well on my Xmas decorations. Very pleased with the product and the supplier.

4. While these stakes say they are for camping, I would only use them in emergencies. They look to be strong and well-made, however they are heavy if you need to use them for backcountry camping. If you are car camping, I don't see a problem with the weight. In short, don't buy these if you are looking to cut weight in your pack!

5. I used these stakes to anchor some black plastic edging that came in a long roll. I used the edging around my garden. These stakes are perfect for the job and seem to hold the edging down and in place. They are much less expensive than other altenatives, most of which are much bulkier and are made out of plastic. I don't expect the the edging will lift up, as it would without the stakes to hold it down and in place.
For GARDEN stakes, they are great. I suppose they'd also work for TENT stakes, but it seems to me that they would pull out of the ground fairly easily if there were any force on them (note, they are very smooth, round metal). For a tent, I'd get something heavier and with something on them to prevent them from pulling out of the ground.

Kevin Durant: 2012 MVP

May 16, 2012 at 10:51 PM in Celebrity by Blog about xtreme Entertainment
                                                  Kevin Durant: The 2012 MVP

You can make a case saying Lebron, Kobe even CP3 could win MVP this year but my vote is on Durant. To me the MVP should go out to the player who makes the biggest difference for their team, with out Kevin I don’t even think the thunder are a playoff team let alone a championship contender who is tied for the best record in the NBA. Personally I thought he should of won it in 2010, but every one was so high on Lebron that season. From day one Kevin has showed his talent, proving everyone wrong with being really under weight as a small forward. Durant has had a great season so far, so has Lebron, but the difference is that if you take Lebron from the heat I still see them as championship contenders b if not a top 4 seed playoff team. Take away Durant from the thunder they are a below .500 team. Durant has really taken the city on his back and been there leader for the last 5 years and made them who they are today. That’s why Durant has my vote for MVP this season. Here is my top five for MVP this season.
  1. Kevin Durant
  2. Lebron James
  3. Kobe “Black mamba” Bryant
  4. Kevin Love
  5. Rondo

Recreating Eden

May 17, 2012 at 3:55 AM in Celebrity by Blog about xtreme Entertainment
imageNearly three times as many people have been arrested in the student protests against Quebec's tuition hike than were arrested during the October Crisis: 1,201 between April 7 and 27, versus 452 in the fall of 1970.  It's something to consider...

And one place to consider it will be the book discussion I'm leading Tuesday, May 8 at Outremont's Bibliotheque Robert-Bourassa:La Constellation du lynx by Louis Hamelin.  It's a long, but fascinating read, so far only available in the French original.  But, as for all the causeries litteraires, you don't have to have read the book to join in this conservation about a book.

Hope to see you there at 7:30 p.m.  And bring your ideas for next season's discussions, as this is the last one of the 2011-2012 series.
